What they found—massive Moai stone heads—remains a mystery and one of the most iconic symbols in the world. Recently, it was discovered that beneath the surface, these heads also have large bodies with various details.

Many mysteries surrounding these enigmatic statues remain unsolved. What we do know is that the figures feature oversized heads that make up about three-fifths of their bodies. They are characterized by prominent foreheads, polished coral pieces set in the eye sockets, long noses, and smooth cheeks. Since their discovery, these statues have fascinated us and have inspired modern art pieces often found in contemporary interiors.
